    Completely agreed that many people are getting sick of the impermanence of downloaded / streamed material, and that a gradual return to physical media is underway. We’re already seeing it in music, per your comments about CDs, and there’s been a lot of grumbling about Nintendo’s download-only Switch 2 games, as developers desperately try to get us all onto the DLC bandwagon so they can save themselves the cost of physical formats.

    The funny part is, by holding onto our physical media, we find ourselves accidentally en vogue again! Funny how time works.

    I think I’ve already gone on about my hatred of AI and confusion about why so many people contribute to it by using it, so I’ll spare you. 🙂

    Eight-bit computers might have died at some point in the late ’80s, in terms of popularity among the not-obsessed-enough, but the real enthusiasts, and those who saw the real possibilities, kept exploring them and enjoying the hell out of them, and certainly carried them through to the surprising “retro boom.” Those of us who took a deep and profound interest in early systems can be likened to bands, in the sense that you can tell who was REALLY into the music all along by noting who has stuck around for decades, versus retiring when the money was no longer massive.

    I agree that the great Tron arcade game can’t really be emulated properly on a normal PC running MAME, because of the controls. It hasn’t stopped me from trying, of course, but yeah, that spinner’s pretty damn important. Shoulder buttons just aren’t quite cutting it.

    I recommend your shows, i.e. this website, to anyone who will listen. Brian (Ballistik Coffee Boy) is already a fan, of course, and we’ve gotten our buddy Adam (Bally Alley) on board as well. Thank you for a great new Atari Now! installment, and for mentioning me, to my surprise. Do you guys have a Patreon page or equivalent?? I should know this by now, but I don’t see a link or anything.

    Chris++
